Experience a unique artistic journey in the atmospheric setting of Montecastelli. This symposium offers an intensive exploration of Franz Schubert’s masterpiece Winterreise, merging world-class musical coaching with profound academic reflection. Under the guidance of baritone Christian Gerhaher and pianist James Cheung, participants will delve into the vocal and pianistic nuances of the cycle, complemented by seminars on poetics, declamation, and the role of innovation and aesthetics in the arts.

Selected Course Attendees: 6 vocal students. (Requested to send 2 videos with 2 songs of Schubert's Winterreise to be eligible. Only the first 60 applications will be considered personally by Christian Gerhaher)
